This tool covers 70 spine and musculoskeletal conditions and nothing else. It cannot assess chest pain, stroke symptoms, breathing problems, head injuries, overdose, or anything else that needs emergency care. If you have symptoms like those, call your local emergency number now.

It is built for research and teaching. It must not be used to guide treatment. Always speak to a qualified health professional about your symptoms.

AIMA asks about your symptoms one question at a time. After each answer it works out which question would tell it the most, and asks that one next, so it can suggest a sensible next step in as few questions as possible. You can answer yes, no, or not sure. At the end it shows a short list of conditions that fit your answers, and what a clinician might do next. Every number it uses comes from published medical research, and it can show you which of your answers mattered most.
